Our story
Established in September 2020, Continuo Foundation is a privately funded charitable organisation focused on supporting the UK’s world-class Baroque and Early Music sector, referred to in The Economist as ‘one of the glories of all British music’. The launch of the Continuo Connect digital initiative in 2023 has advanced Continuo’s mission by amplifying artist visibility, simplifying event discovery for audiences, and championing the historically-informed performance sector across a wider and more diverse footprint.

Continuo Foundation
Continuo Foundation raises funds from private individuals and trusts, and invests strategically through a minimum of £200,000 in project grants each year. Projects are selected through a competitive process based on: artistic excellence and creativity, how they will contribute to the musicians’ long-term career development, and their potential for building audiences for the future. Backed by an exceptional group of Patrons, Advisory Panel members, and Trustees, since 2020 Continuo Foundation has invested over £1.1 million, supporting over 280 projects by 123 period-instrument ensembles, including 41 emerging groups.

Continuo Connect
Continuo Connect provides a curated professional platform for artists to share their work and to connect with a wider audience. The comprehensive, searchable listings of concerts and festivals across the country open access to live music performances everywhere. The Continuo Connect website, newsletter and social media activity serve to shine a light on both established and emerging artists, alongside the venues and festivals programming their music. Continuo Connect also publishes high-quality editorial content, enriched with video and audio, for in-depth exploration and greater engagement.
