Playlist: Women in Music

This playlist celebrates International Women's Day through tracks by women composers from the 11th century to the present day. It traces these composers chronologically, from Hildegard von Bingen to Fanny Mendelssohn, via Barbara Strozzi and others. Works by these composers are interspersed with compositions by contemporary composers, inspired by Early Music or written for period instruments.
