Londinium Consort

Londinium Consort is a new emerging ensemble based in London seeking commissions for composers and concert opportunities. The ensemble is named after the ancient name of the City of London, where old and new meet. Likewise, the focus of the consort is to connect early and contemporary music. It is comprised of recent graduates and current students from London’s world-renowned conservatoires, including The Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama: Anne Sutton (Soprano), Ben Finlay (Treble Viol), Emanuele Addis (Lute), Otto Hashmi (Recorder), Niccolò Citrani (Bass Viol).
Their programme features music from the XVI-XVII century, specifically renaissance court, original and folk music. The programme embraces world-known historic figures from the British and Italian song tradition, including John Dowland, Claudio Monteverdi, and other lesser- known composers. The ensemble commissioned two new compositions inspired by Renaissance Rafael Marino Arcaro and Antonino Abate.
