The English Concert early career Fellowship Scheme opens for applications

One of the UK’s outstanding period-instrument orchestras, The English Concert, is welcoming applications from young singers and instrumentalists for its 2026-7 early career Fellowship Scheme. The Scheme offers recently graduated instrumentalists and singers (or those about to graduate) a grant towards their professional development and the potential for opportunities to perform or cover roles in larger productions.
The 18-month programme, running from February 2026 until August 2027, offers UK and EEA resident graduates (and those about to graduate) the chance to progress their professional development through mentorship, coaching and performance opportunities. Bursaries are provided to contribute towards the cost of taking part in the Scheme.
Candidates are required to submit a video recording from a recent performance with their application, and those shortlisted will be invited to in-person audition sessions in London on 26 February. The closing date for applications is Friday 16 January.
The English Concert, founded by Trevor Pinnock in 1973, is one of Europe's leading specialists in Baroque and Classical music on period instruments, with dozens of critically acclaimed recordings to its name. Under the artistic direction of Harry Bicket and principal guest Kristian Bezuidenhout, The English Concert has earned a reputation for combining urgency, passion and fire with precision, delicacy and beauty.
