About

Portsmouth Early Music Festival invites people of all ages to discover the colour, emotion and relevance of music from centuries past. Highlights include Gabrieli ROAR when Paul McCreesh will direct school children who will perform Vivaldi's Gloria; Britten's Noyes Fludde with its medieval mystery play influence; Baroque Alchemy with Piers Adams (of Red Priest) and Lyndy Mayle. There will be an illustrated talk about early sacred drama, mystery plays and Britten's Noyes Fludde given by Canon Dr Jo Spreadbury and also a talk by Professor George Burrows about Messiah. This will be followed by the ever popular performance of Handel's Messiah with Portsmouth Cathedral Choir and Capelle Baroque orchestra.

Tickets available from Portsmouth Cathedral website portsmouthcathedral.org.uk, Portsmouth Cathedral shop or on the door.
