About

Every August the Machynlleth Festival fills the vibrant Welsh market town of Machynlleth with music for a week. Running for over 20 years each year the Festival presents a wide variety of music, always prominently featuring Welsh music and artists, top-tier Classical artists from around the world, as well as jazz, folk and world music, alongside talks, workshops, family events and more.

Performances take place at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) Machynlleth, within the superb acoustics and intimate surroundings of Y Tabernacle, a former chapel, and the festival is justifiably known for its warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The 2025 festival includes Fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout collaborating with the Consone Quartet for an evening of Mozart, the Chiarascuro Quartet in an evening of Beethoven, and in an atmopsheric candlelit concert, Rachel Podger plays solo Bach.
