About

From 8-12 July, five beautiful churches on the North Norfolk Coast, each with their own unique architecture, history and atmosphere, host five days of concerts and events. This annual festival features musicians of international acclaim alongside established professionals from across Norfolk.

This year's programme features Early Music concerts given by Flutes & Frets and Norwich Baroque with Simon Munday on baroque trumpet, as well as what promises to be memorable performances of two Bach Cello Suites by Guy Johnston. (Wednesday 8 July, 7.30pm, Wiveton Church & Thursday 9 July, 10am, Cley Church).

Award-winning, international duo Flutes & Frets – Beth Stone (flutes) and Daniel Murphy (lute, theorbo and guitar) – present intimate, magnetic performances with an array of instruments that enable them to express the colours, gestures and emotions of repertoire from the medieval era through to contemporary. Performing works on flutes and fretted instruments, their fascinating programme 'It's About Time' explores a variety of music from the past 500 years. Known for their onstage chemistry and interaction, they cultivate a special sound-world taking audiences on a journey through time. (Saturday 11 July, 3pm & 5pm, Glandford Church).

Fanfare! A Feast of Baroque Concertos is the title of Norwich Baroque's programme, which, with eminent baroque trumpeter Simon Munday, brings the Festival to an exhilarating close, exploring the extravagance and intricacy of the baroque concerto. Alongside the enduringly popular Brandenburg Concertos by Bach, Simon Munday performs the rarely heard but exquisite trumpet concerto by Richard Mudge – regarded as a gem in the repertoire. (Sunday 12 July, 7.30pm, Cley Church).
