The Gonzaga Band

EARLY MUSIC 9: The Gonzaga Band

Songs and Duets by Monteverdi and his Contemporaries

EARLY MUSIC 9: The Gonzaga Band
Following the successful launch of the well-loved early music series at 38 St Giles Chapel last year, JDP Music is thrilled to invite The Gonzaga Band – consisting of soprano Faye Newton, cornettist Jamie Savan and keyboard player Steven Devine – for an occasion that celebrates the launch of the group’s latest CD, ‘Love’s Labyrinth’.

This wonderful programme explores the development of a new highly expressive style in Italian composition and performance practice, contrasting the exquisitely wrought madrigals of Monteverdi with the lively dance rhythms of popular canzonettas.

There will be two performances of this programme, at 4.30pm and 7:00pm.
