Instrumental Workshop

A workshop on French baroque style for early instrumentalists at A=440Hz, led by Sam Stadlen

Get into the mood for our French Baroque festival opener with a workshop on stylistic ornaments, phrasing and dances. The morning session will explore ornamentation, and the afternoon focuses on the baroque dance forms that became central to French culture and were emulated across Europe.

Instruments suitable for baroque music—no loud Renaissance winds such as shawms or curtals, please.

10.30-5.30 at The Dance Space in central Brighton. Coffee and instrument drop-off from 10.30am for an 11.00 start.
