Imagine a world before recordings... How could you re-live a concert performance of Mozart's Jupiter Symphony without a full orchestra at your disposal? Well, you would gather together a few of your musical friends and play a transcription for fewer instruments, of course!

In ‘The Symphony Reimagined’ Pocket Sinfonia invites you into the world of nineteenth-century salon music through transcriptions of Mozart and Haydn symphonies by J. N. Hummel and M. Clementi. Performed on fortepiano, flute, violin and cello, ‘The Symphony Reimagined’ gives an insight into how music was enjoyed in the home in the early nineteenth century.
