New Trinity Baroque

Giulio Cesare in Egitto

Giulio Cesare in Egitto
Following its recent concert in Minchinhampton, New Trinity Baroque returns with one of Handel's greatest operas, Giulio Cesare in Egitto, in a special semi-staged performance.

The performance brings together an international cast of six soloists and an ensemble of around ten period-instrument players, including strings, recorder, oboe, bassoon and harpsichord. Presented with dramatic staging, movement and selected costumes and props, it promises to be a feast for both the eyes and ears.

The production has already received considerable critical acclaim. Its original presentation in Belgrade was named 'Best Concert of the Year 2024' by Musica Classica, while Balkan Buzz awarded it five stars, describing it as 'a cultural phenomenon'.

Minchinhampton will have the special distinction of being the only place in the UK outside London where New Trinity Baroque will present Giulio Cesare. Audiences will have a rare opportunity to experience one of Handel's greatest operas performed by an international cast of soloists and a period-instrument ensemble, immediately following the company's appearances at London's Grimeborn Opera Festival.

Performers:
Radoslava Vorgić Cleopatra
Silvija Radjen Sesto
Julia Portela Piñón Tolomeo
Federica Moi Cornelia
Sandro Rossi Giulio Cesare
Marcio da Silva Achilla
New Trinity Baroque
Predrag Gosta harpsichord, director
