Música d'Outrora

Still Life

Early Baroque Fantasy

Still Life
The Cantata Series is proud to present Still Life: Early Baroque Fantasy with award-winning emerging baroque ensemble Música d'Outrora. This album launch concert will be followed by a reception for ticketholders.

Música d'Outrora is an early music ensemble founded in 2022 by Spanish director and harpsichordist Pablo Devigo (1989). Specialising in 17th-century Italian repertoire, the ensemble employs historical research methods to develop new interpretative approaches to the Baroque stylus phantasticus. Música d'Outrora was awarded a grant from Continuo Foundation for a UK tour of their 'Across the Alps' programme, and was selected again for a grant to support the group's debut album, which also received backing from Angel Early Music.

This debut album Still Life (Deux-Elles, September 2025) includes the premiere recording of works by Gregorio Strozzi and Ignazio Albertini, recorded in Birmingham with the collaboration of musicians specialised in historical performance from Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Read more about Pablo Devigo and the curation of Still Life in this feature.
