Byrd's masses in four and five parts, plus his greatest consort music performed as part of a secret ceremony celebrating the Mass. Candle-lit and in costume, The Gesualdo Six perform from original part-books and from memory. The audience can sit or stand, move and even participate in this evocation of the danger of religious conflict.
