A French Offering
The Folkestone Baroque Ensemble (Lisete da Silva Bull, baroque flute, Walter Reiter, baroque violin, Henrik Persson, baroque cello and Robin Walker, harpsichord,) sends Folkestone Early Music's 2026 season off to a flying start with ‘A French Offering,’ featuring music by Telemann composed for his visit to Paris in 1737 and sonatas for violin and flute by the great Jean-Marie Leclair, who was working in Paris at the same time. The concert ends with one of Bach’s masterpieces, the Trio Sonata from his 'Musical Offering,’ composed on a theme given to Bach by Frederick the Great in 1747.
