Ensemble Augelletti

Lunchtime at the Charterhouse

Ensemble Augelletti

Lunchtime at the Charterhouse
Ensemble Augelletti were recently appointed BBC Radio New Generation Baroque Ensemble and make their London Handel Festival debut with a lunchtime recital entitled New Beginning.

Seeking inspiration from new compositional styles or recasting musical fragments into new settings, many performers and composers have reimagined their music. Featuring the teenage inspiration of Telemann, the consummate skill of Handel to ‘polish’ his previously composed pebbles, Geminiani’s reharmonisation of folk tunes, and Bach’s musical jigsaws, this programme celebrates the new beginnings that musicians created for their best melodies.
