Incantati

Following Emma's tragic death in August 2022, the remaining members of Incantati joined with her long-standing friend and colleague, the Austrian violinist Petra Samhaber-Eckhardt, to pursue Emma's ideas for the group in a new format. They have also collaborated with singers (Daniel Gilchrist, Elin Harries) and instrumentalists (Persephone Gibbs, Nikolaus Newerkla, Satoko Doi-Luck, Yu-Wei Hu, Johan Lofving) on several new programmes, including Counting the Hours, a new take on Bach's Goldberg Variations.
Incantati's repertoire continues to grow, representing a wider range of baroque composers as well as works by contemporary composers.
Biography
Incantati was founded by recorder player Emma Murphy in 2021 and recorded a CD of works by Bach in May that year. Over the next 15 months, the ensemble performed in concert series in London and Cambridge as well as the Lewes and Stroud Green festivals, expanded their repertoire to include arrangements of traditional Romanian and Ukrainian music and had two new works composed for them.
