Renowned for his work on both modern and period instruments, Shute’s programme bridges the Baroque and Romantic eras – from expressive works by J.S. Bach, to a tender Brahms Romanze, all heard through his unique lens as both performer and scholar.

Programme Highlights:

(Allemanda – Corrente – Sarabanda – Giga – Ciaccona)
Stretto Fugue after BWV 29/232 – J.S. Bach (trans. Shute)
Romanze in F major, Op. 118 No. 5 – Johannes Brahms (trans. Shute)

Benjamin Shute has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across North America, Europe, and Asia, and is a noted author and scholar on Baroque violin practice. He currently teaches at the University of St Andrews Music Centre, and is known for bringing scholarly rigour to emotionally resonant performances. Experience a rich, historically informed recital from one of today's most thoughtful and expressive violinists.
