Bach: Arranged

Bach: Arranged
To arrange is to look back — and look forward.

It’s a musical act of memory and imagination. You take another composer’s work into your hands, and in doing so, carry their legacy somewhere new.

This programme explores the afterlife of Bach’s music through the minds of those who followed him. Max Reger magnifies the drama of the Fantasia and Fugue. Marcel Dupré reshapes sinfonias into technical showcases. And Bach himself is here too: unmistakable, uncompromising, and endlessly open to reinvention.

Programme
Johann Sebastian Bach (arr. Max Reger) - Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue, BWV 903

J. S. Bach - Kyrie, Christe, and Kyrie from Clavierubung III, BWV 669-671
J. S. Bach (arr. Marcel Dupré) - Sinfonia from Cantata, BWV 146
J. S. Bach - Dies sind den heiligen zehn Gebot, BWV 678
J. S. Bach (arr. Marcel Dupré) - Sinfonia from Cantata, BWV 29

At the console is Tingshuo Yang, a striking new voice in the organ world. Still in his early twenties, Yang brings clarity, daring, and remarkable maturity to his work. He has already made a name for himself through his award-winning piano recordings and praised interpretations of Bach, described by Pizzicato as “timelessly beautiful” and “spontaneously creative.”
