The Three Elizabeths of Georgian England

A morning recital using a harpsichord by local maker Huw Saunders.

The Three Elizabeths of Georgian England
The Georgian period was an era of profound transformation in Britain, including the first published works by women composers for the harpsichord. This programme showcases music by three such enterprising women, all sharing the name Elizabeth: Elisabetta de Gambarini (1730–1765), Elizabeth Turner (d. 1756), and Elizabeth Hardin (1750–1780), offering a glimpse into the creative voices of women in Georgian England.

Masumi Yamamoto will be performing on a harpsichord by local maker Huw Saunders. The concert will be presented with engaging introductions to both the instrument and the repertoire.
