The Mancunium Consort

A New Light

A New Light
The Mancunium Consort performs a programme of their favourite motets and anthems based on their debut album, 'A New Light'.

A vibrant young professional ensemble with early music at its heart, they are the newest light of Northern music-making. This concert will showcase the best of the group’s repertoire and the core of its first album, ‘A New Light’, weaving together multiple different branches of choral music from Europe and America. The listener will experience a journey through time: an eclectic mix of music from Mouton in the 15th century, by way of Palestrina, Purcell and Brahms, up to contemporary composers including Gorecki and Whitacre.

'The Mancunium Consort is one of the rising stars of the choral music scene' – Owain Park, The Gesualdo Six.
