'Champion Of The Neglected' Leon Bosch introduces us to the work of Johannes Matthias Sperger, an 18th-century composer who expanded the double bass repertoire with inventive and expressive works.

Bosch, himself a celebrated double bassist and conductor, is bringing Sperger’s overlooked works back into the spotlight, beginning with a recording project (Chandos) with The Hanover Band.

Bosch’s own journey, shaped by his South African heritage and activism, brings new context to the study of forgotten musical voices.
