The Gesualdo Six

Radiant Dawn

With Matilda Lloyd (Trumpeter)

Radiant Dawn
Join The Gesualdo Six & Matilda Lloyd in Cambridge as they present their stunning programme, Radiant Dawn, exploring different shades of light through music.

Works from the Golden Age of polyphony by Tallis and White are juxtaposed with modern compositions by Roxanna Panufnik, Alec Roth and Deborah Pritchard. Highlights include Sir James MacMillan’s ‘O radiant dawn’, an evocative setting from the composer’s Strathclyde Motets, alongside Richard Barnard’s ‘Aura’, co-commissioned by the artists.

“I can vouch for the timbral magic created by the combination: Lloyd’s trumpet moves from being a luminous beacon to melding with the voices like syrup.” – Gramophone

  • date Tue, 14 April 2026
  • location The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and the English Martyrs, Cambridge
  • time 7:30pm
  • ticket £18 - £35
