The Gesualdo Six
Josquin's Legacy: Through the Shadows

Courts in Renaissance Italy were meeting places for some of the finest musicians from across Europe, the great Josquin Desprez among them. Tonight’s concert traces themes of teaching and patronage in northern Italy over 150 years, with highlights including responses to the Lamentations of Jeremiah by Pierre de La Rue and Antoine Brumel, and a work by Indian-American composer, Shruthi Rajasekar, commissioned by The Gesualdo Six in 2022.
