Kenneth Yeung

The Forgotten Baroque Traditions

The Forgotten Baroque Traditions
Kenneth Yeung (harpsichord) presents an intimate, autobiographical journey across two antique keyboards. Kenneth navigates early repertoire and personal memory, weaving Cabezon, Frescobaldi, Froberger, Pasquini's partimentno sonata, a compiled 17th-century French suite, and JS Bach's magnificent toccata. Interspersed is a new tombeau – an elegy for the Tai Po fire in Hong Kong – linking past practice with contemporary resonance. Playful, scholarly, creative, the programme surveys a wide range of national styles and improvisatory traditions, inviting listeners into anecdotes and the harpsichordist's inner world as music becomes story and memory.

  • festival Edinburgh Fringe Festival
  • date Wed, 12 August 2026
  • location St Cecilia's Hall, Edinburgh
