Continuo Connect — Concert // Sirinu: The Escape of Lovell the Dog

Francis, ninth Lord Lovell escaped from the battle Bosworth in 1485 and returned to take part in the Lambert Simnel rebellion two years later after which Francis disappeared. Though he lived through extraordinary times he would have been familiar with the English Court and of that of Margaret of York in Flanders. Our concert brings together some of the vocal and instrumental music associated with these Courts and features instruments of the time like the shawm, gothic harp, medieval lute, dulcimer, pipe and tabor, and fifteenth century positive organ.
