Full Event Details
The Cardinall’s Musick and their director Andrew Carwood present “Sweet Music”, a concert to celebrate Sir Charles Villiers Stanford whose 100th anniversary of death is marked this year. A century after he died, Stanford's music remains been much-loved. This concert celebrates not only Stanford’s music, but also some of the music which influenced what he composed. Choral music by Stanford will be put alongside works by William Byrd, Thomas Tomkins, Orlando Gibbons, and Thomas Weelkes, to show the lineage of the tradition of which Stanford was a part.
