Britain's top singers walk towards the light in the footsteps of carpenter Joseph and mother-to-be Mary. They populate their colourful tableaux with songs from Medieval and Renaissance Europe: expressive soundscapes by masters such as William Byrd, Orlandus Lassus, John Sheppard and Michael Praetorius.
