Sounds Historical's latest programme explores aspects of early modern life which people found wonderful and awe-inspiring – from mythology to mathematics, from astrology to astronomy, love, magic and inexplicable weather... to a lost whale!

Including works by Charpentier, Galilei, Monteverdi, Uccellini, Bach, Purcell, Van Eyck and Telemann performed on lutes, viols, recorders, flutes and more!
