Sirinu

Medieval tales of Robin, Marion, Tristan and Arthur in songs, dances and motets

Knights, Knaves, and Amorous Escapades

continuo logoSupported by a grant from Continuo Foundation

Sirinu brings to life the rollicking interplay between the social classes, the sexes, and the urban folk and the rustics in this panoply of medieval society.

Much of this music was composed for performance by the composers themselves, often in a public and competitive arena to a critical and discerning audience who would have been fully conversant with the mythic characters and their deeds. Including monophonic songs, carols, pastourelles, instrumental pieces, motets and ballades using a range of medieval instruments and voices.
