The Grocer's Music Club

Recent musical detective work has identified the true owner of an important set of music books as John Sadler, a 16th-century Norwich grocer.

This programme imagines a convivial evening at the grocer’s house, where a gathering of friends sets about singing a wealth of music by the leading composers of the day, namely Tallis, Morley, Byrd, Taverner and Ferrabosco.
