England's greatest early songwriters, John Dowland (in his 400th anniversary year) and Henry Purcell, are side by side in this ravishing recital for strings, theorbo and internationally acclaimed soprano, Ruby Hughes. The greatest works of both composers are heard alongside short lute solos and include Purcell’s beautiful ‘Music for a While’ and Dowland’s ‘Flow my Tears’.
