The Rautio Piano Trio returns to Kino Teatr for a special afternoon concert exploring the people, places and connections behind the music of the Classical era. At the heart of the programme is Marianne Martines – composer, singer, keyboard player and host of one of eighteenth-century Vienna's most important musical salons. Her music is heard alongside Haydn and Beethoven, offering a glimpse into a richly interconnected musical world shaped by friendship, influence, ambition and aristocratic patronage.

The programme is performed on a fortepiano specially brought to Kino Teatr from Glyndebourne, bringing the distinctive sound and character of the eighteenth-century keyboard to the music and recreating something of the sound world in which these works were first heard. The critically acclaimed Rautio Piano Trio has built an international reputation over more than two decades of performing and recording, with appearances at major UK venues including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place and the Southbank Centre, as well as concerts across Europe. Their discography spans repertoire from Mozart and Haydn to Beethoven and Schubert, with recordings receiving five-star reviews in BBC Music Magazine and recommendations in The Strad.

The Trio is one of a very few ensembles undertaking a complete recording of Beethoven's piano trios on fortepiano for Resonus Classics – an ambitious multi-volume project exploring the works through historically informed performance while bringing their distinctive musical voice to the repertoire. Alongside the Classical and Romantic repertoire, the Trio champions contemporary music and the work of women composers and performs on both period and modern instruments.
