Peter Holman MBE
So, What IS Early Music?
Round table discussions and music by William Shield, Mozart and Viotti
Aimée Taylor (flute), Lucine Musaelian (viola da gamba and voice), Freddie Waxman (harpsichord)

Part II - entertaining panel game, with demonstration of a new harpsichord by Stoke Newington maker Huw Saunders.
On Sunday 1 February in the afternoon, SNEMF invites you to join a discussion of the question 'What IS Early Music?' Intended to inform and entertain both aficionados and those completely new to early music, this will be a lively occasion bringing together interesting thinkers from the early music world.
Professor Peter Holman MBE with baroque flautist Aimee Taylor and singer/viol player Lucine Musaelian discuss the history of the Early Music Movement and questions about the performance of early music in today's world.
Then, after the interval (bar drinks available), harpsichordist Freddie Waxman and a panel of brilliant musical wordsmiths will play 'Just a Minuet', an early music take on the well-known Radio 4 panel game. Instead of Chopin's Minute Waltz, you will hear Minute Minuets, Galliards, Sarabandes and maybe even a minute Fugue, performed by Freddie on Huw Saunders' Kirckmann model harpsichord.
Show Host: Daniel Thomson
Panellists: Paula Chateauneuf, Peter McCarthy, Sam Brown & Tatty Theo
