The rarest musician that his age did behold
Long established duo Pellingmans’ Saraband are joined by Dr Sara Salloum in this programme of Elizabethan and Jacobean “Division-Musick” (variations and improvisations on well-known chord progressions and ballads of the time), as well as polyphonic works by Byrd and Tallis. John Dowland’s songs and instrumental pieces will take centre stage, as February 2026 marks the 400th anniversary of the great lutenist’s death.

Lute duets and self-accompanied lute songs performed by Sara Salloum are featured along with division pieces and polyphonic arrangements for viol and lutes.
