Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment
The Night Shift at The Fiddler's Elbow
Featuring Kinga Ujszászi (violin)

Violinist Kinga Ujszászi curates a truly nocturnal Night Shift setlist drawing on sleep-themed music by Monteverdi, Biber, Merula, Mealli, Handel and others. The Italian writer Italo Calvino's trait of seeing reality in different ways allows us to discover new possibilities for storytelling as we hear familiar Baroque melodies in a new light. A mix of vocal and instrumental pieces blends operatic expression with chamber intimacy.
The Night Shift is a series of informal chamber music gigs – literally music for smaller rooms, in the home or other places where people socialise. They're a chance to hear the members of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment playing music that they're passionate about and bringing in a wide range of musical influences.
