Manchester Baroque

Dixit Dominus

Dixit Dominus
Manchester Baroque is delighted to be collaborating with Manchester Chamber Choir for the first time in a programme that brings together two landmark works of the Baroque choral repertoire.

Handel’s Dixit Dominus is a thrilling and dramatic tour de force, brimming with energy, virtuosity and striking contrasts, and remains one of the composer’s most electrifying sacred works. In contrast, Bach’s Jesu, meine Freude offers a work of profound beauty and introspection, weaving chorales and scripture into an exquisitely crafted meditation on faith, consolation and joy.

Performers:
Manchester Chamber Choir
Manchester Baroque
Pauline Nobes
leader
Vicente Chavarría conductor
