Lucy Crowe

Handel’s Divas

In partnership with the London Handel Festival

Featuring Steven Devine (harpsichord)

Handel’s Divas
Internationally renowned soprano Lucy Crowe and keyboard extraordinaire Steven Devine present a specially curated programme exploring music written for Francesca Cuzzoni and Faustina Bordoni, two of the great divas of Handel’s time. Their much-documented rivalry captivated audiences, stirred public excitement, and helped define London’s operatic scene.

This intimate recital features arias from Giulio Cesare, Rodelinda, Alessandro, and Siroe.

Handel Hendrix House and London Handel Festival are working together to present innovative and revelatory programmes of Handel’s music performed by the country’s leading soloists and ensembles, right in the part of London he called home. Beginning our new collaboration are two concerts inspired by the idea of travel.
