In ILLUMINATA, music, live painting and the setting of St Giles' Cathedral come together in a unique performance. As the music unfolds, Maria Rud paints live, with her evolving artwork projected onto the magnificent East Window of St Giles' Cathedral, transforming it into a vast canvas of colour, movement and light.
The programme features music by JS Bach, John Tavener and Hildegard von Bingen, alongside the world premiere of a new work by Jack Oades, Master of the Music at St Giles' Cathedral. The combination of soprano, cello, live painting and the cathedral's remarkable architecture creates an experience that goes beyond a traditional concert – an immersive journey through sound, light and imagination.
