An Evening at El Capricho
Otley Baroque is thrilled to invite La Tirana (Pablo Tejedor-Gutiérrez, cello, Sonia Hrechorowicz, harpsichord), a period instrument ensemble based in London, which focuses on hidden Spanish baroque repertoires.


In this special programme, together with local specialists from Leeds Baroque Orchestra, La Tirana will recreate the salon of Lady María Josefa de Borja Pimentel, the Duchess of Benavente, who was a Spanish Salonnière, famous as a patron of artists, writers and scientists and an important figure of the Spanish Age of Enlightenment.


You will hear string ensembles and a harpsichord concerto by lesser-known Spanish composers as well as a famous cello concerto and Musica Notturna della Strada di Madrid by Luigi Boccherini, the Italian cello virtuoso who transplanted to Spain and was inspired by its musical heritage.
