Sweet Oblivion

Boston Manor House is delighted to host a special musical treat as part of Floating Architectural Spaces by Alec & Franz.

Renowned British tenor Kieran White will be accompanied by Daniel Murphy (lute & theorbo) for an intimate recital of 17th-century song and lute music. Sweet Oblivion explores love, longing, sleep and silence through masterpieces from Italy, France and England.

Kieran White is a British tenor known for his radiant tone, musical intelligence and expressive connection to text, particularly in Baroque and Early Music repertoire. Opera Magazine praised his 'extraordinary emotional clarity', while The Guardian described his voice as 'pure and luminous'. He is increasingly sought after across Europe and the United States as a concert soloist and operatic performer.

Daniel Murphy specialises in baroque and renaissance lute, theorbo, and other historical plucked string instruments. Taking inspiration from the great lute players of the past and the leading players of the last 25 years, historical accuracy is at the heart of his music-making. In 2026, he was appointed Historical Lute Professor at the Royal College of Music.
