Katarzyna Kowalik

Meditations for Harpsichord

World Premiere, CD Launch & Book Launch

Meditations for Harpsichord
Harpsichordist and artistic director Katarzyna Kowalik presents the world premiere of Meditations for Harpsichord – an innovative project exploring the meeting point of music, mindfulness, and contemporary creation.

This special event marks the world premiere of nine newly commissioned works, the launch of the Meditations for Harpsichord CD recording on Prima Facie Records, and the launch of the book Meditations for Harpsichord, published by Vision Edition.

The programme features new works for harpsichord, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and electronics, creating a unique sound world that brings together ancient and modern musical traditions. Alongside the premieres, audiences will experience a carefully curated journey through meditative sound, inviting reflection, stillness, and deep listening.

The commissioned composers are Rolf Hind, Nicola LeFanu, John Palmer, Janet Oates, Kevin Raftery, Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska, Andrzej Karałow, Dariusz Przybylski and Anna Maria Huszcza.

Composers and editors involved in the publication of the book will be present at the event, offering audiences an opportunity to celebrate the culmination of this ambitious international project.

Audience members are invited to experience the performance in the way that feels most comfortable to them. Seating will be available on chairs, while floor cushions will also be provided.
