A Breath of Fresh Air!
with Peter Sheppard Skaerved (violin)

New instrumental music and songs from Italy, Scotland, Germany, France and England – all of it very much London. All found their way to the fresh air, rivers and meadows that were an escape from the great city to the east. There will also be new work inspired by this extraordinary place and its history: Malene Sheppard Skaerved's poetry responds to the gardens of Chiswick House and Hogarth's House.
There are also new works by two London composers: David Hackbridge Johnson is in dialogue with the statue of the Apollo Belvedere which stood in the Burlington's cupola, and locally-based Mihailo Trandafilovski brings a chaconnne, the most famous musical form based on walking!
