Johan Löfving

'A Lost Love'

Romantic Guitar Gems

'A Lost Love'
Join guitarist Johan Löfving for a magical moment of romantic guitar music performed on an original 19th-century guitar. This programme follows the guitar from genteel Victorian salons to the rustic and evocative landscape of Spain.

As the most 'rapturous and romantic' of instruments, the guitar was loved and loathed in equal measure throughout the romantic era. This inspiring repertoire shows why the guitar remains one of the world's most beloved instruments and highlights its unique ability to unite a variety of styles and expressions.

Through the music of, among others, Catharina Pratten and Giulio Regondi, this concert takes us through the intense variety of guitar music as it flourished in the British capital and beyond.

  • festival Brunel University Lunchtime Concerts
  • date Fri, 7 November 2025
