Celebrate the festive season as conductor Jack Gonzalez-Harding returns to Mayfield to lead Handel's Messiah. With an instinctive love of Handel, Gonzalez-Harding will direct a historically informed performance using period instruments. The gut strings, baroque trumpets and historical tuning will take us back centuries, revealing the crisp rhythmic drive, intimate transparency and vibrant colours that Handel originally intended.

This seasonal tradition brings together a line-up of four soloists alongside The Mayfield Consort and The Baroque Collective to track the profound narrative of prophecy, passion, and redemption. From the quiet intimacy of the story-telling recitatives to the blazing communal majesty of the Hallelujah chorus, this performance takes place inside the acoustics of St Dunstan's Church.
