Full Event Details
George Jeffreys, organist to Charles I during his time at Oxford during England’s Civil War, was known during his lifetime for championing the latest Italian musical styles. Solomon’s Knot rescued the composer from footnote obscurity with its enthralling recording of his sacred songs and anthems, and continues to champion his work with this semi-staged programme complete with dialogue written by Federay Holmes, Associate Artist at Shakespeare’s Globe.
