Galliarda showcases the splendour of polyphonic writing that emerged in such musical centres as Zacateca and Potosi where New and Old World musical traditions merged in the 17th century. They explore villancicos, chaconas and motets by Manuel Sumaya, Juan Arañes, Tomas de Torrejón y Velasco, Juan Hidalgo, and Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla, with cornetts, voices, lutes & viols.
