Follia 4

ROOT

ROOT
The sound of the recorder has always been celebrated for its immediacy and closeness to the human voice – an ideal vessel for expression and communication. Mixing popular music from both the Renaissance era and our own time, this programme explores how music can be put together, growing and developing from simple tones.

Recorder quartet Follia 4 is a collaboration between four of the most exciting emerging voices in the London recorder scene. With individual specialisms ranging from art pop and contemporary dance music to historically informed performance practice and collaborative composition, Otto Hashmi, Rowena Jones, Lizzie Knatt and Hannah Parry draw on a wealth of experience as performers, researchers, composers and collaborators to create performances which celebrate the diversity of recorder repertoire and the sonic possibilities of the recorder consort.

  • date Wed, 11 March 2026
  • location Burgh House, London
  • time 7:30pm
  • ticket £10 (u18s £5)
