In the early 18th century, a bright youngster called Johan Helmich Roman arrived at the Swedish court in Stockholm. Did he know he was later going to travel Europe and make history as the 'Father of Swedish Music'? Or that his German colleague in the oboe section had a brother back home who was destined to become known simply as 'Father Bach' - one of the most celebrated composers of all time?
