Erasmus Chamber Choir

Komm, Jesu, Komm

Komm, Jesu, Komm
This recital of sacred choral music juxtaposes two very different Baroque masters: JS Bach, a quintessential musician of the church (especially the organ loft) and Henry Purcell, who was equally at home in both cathedral and theatre.

Julian Merson directs the Erasmus Chamber Choir in two of JS Bach's virtuosic choral motets, plus moving church anthems by Henry Purcell – as well as the powerful Salvator Mundi by Purcell's teacher, John Blow. The programme will also include solo vocal music and works for organ.

Performers:
Erasmus Chamber Choir
Dan Tidhar organ
Julian Merson director
