Ensemble Pampinea

Musik, Städte, Kulturen

Zurich, Basel and Bern in the early 16th century

Musik, Städte, Kulturen
The early 16th century saw a vibrant Swiss Renaissance. Ideas, music, and artists moved freely between cities like Zurich, Basel, and Bern, shaping a rich cultural landscape.

The Basel-based Ensemble Pampinea’s Swiss Connections series explores these musical ties, blending rare instruments such as the Clavicytherium and Viola d'arco with works by composers like Hans Kotter, Johannes Wannenmacher and Ludwig Senfl. The programme presents an intimate, colourful sound world shaped by both local identity and international exchange.
